🎙️ The Legendary Talkbox Sound — Reimagined 🎙️

We’re proud to reintroduce one of the most iconic vocal effects in music history: the unmistakable sound of the Talkbox® — now completely rebuilt from the ground up using our powerful Pure Synth® Platinum engine.

This isn’t just a re-release — it’s a total reinvention of our original Version 1 (previously available through UVI Workstation). By leveraging our latest synthesis and sampling technology, we’ve captured the soul and nuance of the classic Talkbox like never before.

Below we will describe the different sound and synthesis sections that make up the library:

Phrases and Vowels - These are your monophonic Ooohs and Aaahs vowels and phrases that are programmed to be played monophonically with some glide.
Polyphonic Chords - These are custom EQ'ed presets to allow you to play chords. The same lead sounds don't sound good playing chords, so these templates allow you to play full chords without that high pitched plastic sibilance.
Keyswitches - Allow you to use custom keyswitches to switch between sounds (Red More Below).
Official Talkbox Patches - These are the Certified Official Talkbox patches from the DX100 that you can use to run into your own hardware talkbox to get the authentic sound (See How To Tab)
Leads and Sounds - Classic Lead and other sounds from the DX100 and other synths from that funk era
Synths and Polys - Classic Synth brass and poly sounds for the funk sound.
Synth Bass - Custom funk synth bass patches mimicking the funk era
Glide Patches - Modern Glide patches using the talkbox for chording.

User-Programmable TRIGGER MODEWe've added a new TRIGGER mode that allows for random-like scats, programmable keyswitches color coded and Round Robin like playing between oscillators. With new V2, you can now program your own custom triggers and voicings yourself. The triggers automatically adjust per on/of oscillator as well.

We added a user controllable Morph to the Modwheel functions. You can control the smoothness of the crossfade transitions between oscillators as well as the DEPTH of the modwheel. The Depth is also bipolar such that if you use the left quadrant, then it reverses the oscillator sequence from 1...4 to 4...1.

The main difference between Version 1 (UVI) and Version 2 (Pure Synth®) is the upgraded architecture and its powerful new features. Below are some key benefits of Version 2:

Preset Handling - You have full reign to name, rename, export, and organize your presets however you wish.
Easy Authorization- When purchased, our system will automatically find your license and activate the expansion. The FREE Player activates via a standard license key.
Activate iOS for FREE - With our new login based authorization system, when you purchase an expansion, you can unlock it for FREE on the iOS.
Fast Loading Times - With our new architecture, you can see 3x faster loading times
Easy Installation - Because the expansion is already built-in, installation is just a matter of Refreshing the license and downloading the samples from within the actual app.

Sound and Synthesis Updates

Same Sound Revamped - We are using the same samples as version 1, but optimized. Version 1 came out 11 years ago and since then we have much better sample editing techniques and tools to make the existing samples sound better.
Custom Programmed Keyswitching - You have total control over the keyswitching as far as MIDI Notes, and different modes.
Modwheel Morph - We created a new feature to be able to morph between oscillators with the modwheel with adjustable crossfading.
Talkbox Chords - We created polyphonic chord templates to be able to now play chords
Glide Pitch - Everyone loves pitch drops

Frequently Asked Questions

What platform is this for?

This library is an expansion pack for our Pure Synth® Platinum FREE Player. Don't worry, installation is a breeze and we send a ton of step-by-step instructions on how to install. The library unlocks from inside of the player.

This library is not for the UVI Workstation as version 1 was.

Is there a crossgrade discount if I own Version 1?

Yes! Once you login, our store will automatically recognize your previous purchase and apply a Crossgrade discount.

Is this version for UVI Workstation?

No! This version uses our own Pure Synth® Platinum FREE Player in order to authorize. You will not use UVI Workstation at all for this product.

Will I be Missing Anything?

Yes and No. The only thing omitted in version 2 is the Arpeggiator, but we compensated that effect by using an LFO that sounds virtually the same.

Are the Same Samples Included?

Yes. We included the same samples as version 1, but revamped. The samples are much more cleaner and the loop points are much more consistent.

Do I use iLok to Authorize?

No. We do not use iLok for our Pure Synth Free Player. You will simply download Pure Synth® FREE and purchase the expansion. It will be unlocked and once you download the samples and register with our user-base login system.

Is This for iOS as Well

Yes! If you purchase the desktop expansion, you can unlock the iOS Expansion using our user-base login authorization.
